May 23: The Long Road at Acoustic LI
John Wacaster’s award-winning “The Long Road” reminds us simply and beautifully of the lessons we learn – hypocrisy, healing, and remembering – on the open road of life. (Winner of the VH1 Folk Song of the Year for March!) And that’s not all – our favorite lyric of the night came from Utah native Weston Cann: “…search the sky, with your big blue eyes…” and Tom Griffith let us have it with ANOTHER powerful new song, “The Prodigal Son.” Rounding out tonight’s line-up: Bob Gushue on the dobro, John Keenan, and Martha Trachtenberg on piano with her tear jerking “The Touch of Your Hand.”
