January 6, 2010
8:00 pmto10:00 pm

Join us on Wednesday, January 6 for two extraordinary acoustic artists and a full two hours of top live music. Each hour set will give you just the right dose of the uniqueness of the artist’s distinct style and character. All in the intimate setting that has made Acoustic Long Island a highly sought-after venue for both artists and audience members alike. Here’s more about the talent being featured:

Newland and Miller -  Fred Newland and Cliff Miller have been in bands together since Junior High. In the late ‘70’s and early ‘80’s after working with Michael Lang of Woodstock fame, and Charlie Colello who did musical arrangements for Barbara Streisand, the Four Seasons and others, they moved on and did some opening gigs for Ronnie Specter, New Riders of the Purple Sage, and Orleans, playing the Long Island original music scene. Marriage, families, and careers intervened but they stayed in touch with their music and recorded a project with Doug Stegmeyer of Billy Joel’s Band as well as some commercial and theme work in television. They continued to write and record but refrained from playing out. Having recently decided to start playing out again, and keeping things acoustic, Fred and Cliff are enjoying playing Long Island’s acoustic venues, “Acoustic Long Island” being their favorite. Amy Regan – “Amy Regan is poised to take the music world by storm. All she needs is the right break” -Wildy’s World Blog — Recently named one of Music Connection’s Hot 100 Unsigned Artists, Amy Regan’s music has been described as having “Norah Jones’ sweet soulful sound and the pouncing instincts of Fiona Apple.” Growing up with a love affair for popular song but enticed by every genre imaginable, Regan’s music fuses lyrical integrity and innate musicality with pop sensibility, creating a sound that is instantly accessible but will ultimately resonate with the listener on a deeper level. Amy released her debut EP And Then There Is This (available on iTunes and CD Baby) in 2008, which was recently ranked as one of the top 40 albums of the year by Wildy’s World Blog. Her songs have been played on NY’s Harris Radio, Radio Crystal Blue and numerous online podcasts. Recent Press: “Just when it seems there are few good songwriters anymore, Amy Regan comes along to dispel that notion.” – Henry Lewis, Music Connection Magazine “At just 21 years old, Amy Regan has the untainted swagger of youth, the confidence and bravado of adulthood, and the soul of the classic female music icons.” – Alyssa Rashbaum (MTV, SPIN, VIBE),For more, go to www.amyregan.com.
