Adrien Reju LIVE at Acoustic Long Island 05-05-2010

Adrien Reju – has captivated audiences with her clear, lilting voice and her sparkling stage presence. After gaining her degree in classical guitar from Ithaca College, the New York City raised singer/songwriter took to the music circuit of Philadelphia, toured throughout the nation with the rootsy trio Angel Band with David Bromberg, and was the creative force behind the Philadelphia-based bluegrass outfit The Lowlands. On her debut solo release, A Million Hearts, “Reju waxes in a new style, burnishing her timeless sensibility into laid-back sparkly pop that registers on the familiarity meter somewhere between Feist and Petula Clark.” (Tara Murtha, Philadelphia Weekly). Having landed back in her hometown of New York, Reju has been frequenting the city’s most notable listening rooms including The Living Room, Rockwood Music Hall and The Bitter End. She currently resides in a comfy abode with her bass-playing beau Owen Biddle (The Roots, The Jimmy Fallon Show). Her song “When the Curtain Falls” earned 2nd place in the 100% Music Songwriting Contest and was a finalist in the 2009 NY Songwriters’ Circle Competition. Two songs from the album, “Heartless” and “The Waiting Room”, were placed in the Hallmark movie Flower Girl which aired in November 2009. Both “Fire Away” and “Brand New Key” receive regular airplay on WXPN Public Radio (Philadelphia). For more, go to www.myspace.com/adrienreju.
