Oct 17: The Chapin Sisters at Acoustic LI
The best way to cap off our second anniversary celebration? With an incredible trio of sisters - The Chapin Sisters. Abigail Chapin, Lily Chapin, and Jessica Craven (daughters of Tom Chapin and nieces of Harry Chapin) captivated the 100+ gathering at the mansion with their “tight, celestial harmony that only sisters can achieve.” (www.thechapinsisters.com) Listen in for some of our favorites from their EP and upcoming CD releases, including “Shady River”, “I Don’t Like Your Girlfriend” (that would be the ORIGINAL version!) and “Don’t Love You.” Then grab a tissue when the sisters are joined by Tom Chapin, singing Harry’s “Remember When The Music” and “The Water is Wide,” a traditional folk song.
More on the Chapin Sisters: Their EP of demos recorded in friends’ basements and garages has been a CDBaby best seller, and their cover of Britney Spears’ “Toxic” won them international recognition both as one of LA radio station KCRW’s most requested songs of 2005, and when it was featured on PerezHilton.com. On March 27, 2007 they released 4 new songs on a vinyl only EP Picture-Disc, split with their friends the Winter Flowers on Manimal Vinyl records.
This fall they are putting the finishing touches on a full-length album to be released in January, 2008 on Plain Recordings. VIDEO Podcast also available! video.acousticlongisland.com or iTunes. Photo1 Photo2, Photo3, Photo4, Photo5, Photo6.

FREE ADMISSION: Energetic, Evocative and Funky Solo Acoustic Guitar. Original Compositions as well as arrangements of well known songs by Stevie Wonder, The Beatles, Bill Withers and Dr. Lonnie Smith. Adam was born and raised in Harlem. He was mugged in front of his building when he was 10. He played in a hard rock band at 12, got ripped off by a club owner on his first gig at 15, and by 18 he was a rapper on a gold record in overseas. That's callled "paying dues" - and you hear it in his songs, in his feeling for the blues, in his groove, in his touch. The history and life experience puts the fire in this man's music. He puts the "sizzle" in the "steak" musically speaking. For more go to
I have seen them perform - a lot of fun.
Comment - Harry Chapin’s neices should read nieces. Looks better with correct spelling.
My wife, daughter and I were heading back from a weekend trip to the lake while listening to the Chapin sisters. All three of us really enjoyed and look forward to hopefully seeing them in the midwest sometime.
I saw Tom two winters ago when he was here in Scotland - superb !. He spoke about the “family” concerts back in the good ‘ol US of A. This MP3 stream is the first time I’ve heard the girls play & sing, never mind when are they going to the midwest, when are they comming with Tom to sunny Scotland.
Haste ye back Tom.
Does anybody know where I can get a recording of “The Chapin Sisters Sing the Chapin Brothers?” I have looked all over the internet and can’t find it anywhere.
