Welcome to the #1 Acoustic Podcast on iTunes - brought to you weekly by
FREE ADMISSION: Energetic, Evocative and Funky Solo Acoustic Guitar. Original Compositions as well as arrangements of well known songs by Stevie Wonder, The Beatles, Bill Withers and Dr. Lonnie Smith. Adam was born and raised in Harlem. He was mugged in front of his building when he was 10. He played in a hard rock band at 12, got ripped off by a club owner on his first gig at 15, and by 18 he was a rapper on a gold record in overseas. That's callled "paying dues" - and you hear it in his songs, in his feeling for the blues, in his groove, in his touch. The history and life experience puts the fire in this man's music. He puts the "sizzle" in the "steak" musically speaking. For more go to
listener from Haiti, your site is GREAT!!!!
could not keep on living without listening at least once a day while surfing on the Net.
Keep on hitting the right keys to my heart.
I really liked the video podcast. Do you think you can do more and at a full length? It helps us to feel like we are there.
The Acoustic Long Island podcast is my sanity’s salvation each time I listen. I am a tax auditor for the state of Illinois. I sit in a small cubicle and crunch number eight hours a day. Listening to podcasts on my mp3 player helps to pass the time. However, the absolute highlight of my listening time is when your podcast begins. I sit in rabid anticipation for the announcement of the next performer: Turtlehead, Martha, Tom, Hank, John, et al. I love the sounds of the people in the background, the espresso machine, the blender. I imagine people enjoying themselves as much as I am as the sweet elixer of sound oozes into my ears. God bless all of you. I hope someday to visit Cool Beans and meet you all.

Just wanted to say thanks from Oklahoma. I think the artists, music and quality of the podcasts are fantastic. It’s a great respite from the day when driving home or late at night to play a few of the podcasts and just relax. Great job and please keep it up.
Dear Dave and Rob,
I just wanted to tell you both what an absolutely wonderful thing you have created.
I am so glad Dave finally pulled me out of my weeknight routine to come to ‘Acoustic Long Island’. Sitting there tonight, taking in the sounds of voices of all ages and styles, surrounded by teenagers photographing
performers on their cell phones, artists drawing 3 minute portraits of the performers, people smiling and tapping their feet….I felt at that moment I was in a great place. It was the place to be. Thank you both for doing what you do.
I just wish I could stay the entire night, but with the 45 minute drive home, I would turn into a pumpkin by my bedtime. Dave says, “don’t worry about it, you’ll work up to it”. Is that how it works?
With much gratitude and love,
Michele
Wow, I’m so glad I found your site! I’ve always felt
That acoustic performances show the true music….you know, before the reverb, echo, remix, overdub…blah blah blah.Anyway thanks for the stripped down real stuff! I can’t wait for your Stephanie Smith podcast! Kari

Thanks so much for the time and energy you put into the podcast. I sit here at work in western Oregon listening and appreciating the wonderful music and the relaxed quality of the whole virtual “scene.” You do a great job of making everyone feel as if they’re right there and welcomed.

Hi ALI,
I drive over 100 miles each way to work each day from Brenham TX to Austin TX. I was getting very tired of my audiobooks and was earnestly searching for a resource that could help me fight boredom and drowsiness at the same time. Then it happened! I was on iTunes searching for acoustic music and that is where I found Acoustic Long Island! I can’t tell you how much I have enjoyed the shows and eagerly anticipate the new release each week! I play the banjo and guitar as a hobby and appreciate the original music being performed immensely. Many thanks from a weary traveller…KC

Hey…I was listening to last weeks podcast and I heard my comment read during the mailbag session. How cool was that?! Of course, I was driving from work to home (remember 100+ miles each way) when I heard it. Thanks for the surprise! I have also become a contributor to ALI as I believe in what ALI is doing in our (virtual) global community. I try to tell everyone I can about the shows and forward the links to all of my co-workers and family. I have to comment that my favorite performances so far are Patrick Fitzsimmons, Josh Holley and Juliet Lloyd. That list is definitely not all-inclusive as there have been so many performers and is just impossible to name all of them that have touched us with their music. Music creates bridges between us, sight unseen that mirror our collective consciousness and thereby provides a common language to which we all can speak, heart to heart and soul to soul. Thanks again from TX and I can’t wait for the next edition.

The show last night with the Chapin sisters and their father Tom was the greatest. I have never been so pleased with a show. The show was priceless and for free it is unbelievable.
I can’t wait for them to return. The sooner the better.
It was an amazing night at Acoustic Long Island last nighjt. It started with a great open mike, and then when the Chapin sisters came on it was amazing. Their voices and lyrics were exceptional and when their father joined them it a great finale.I felt like saying–encore, encore–They got a standing ovation and they deserve it. I can’t wait to download the podcast Keep up the great shows.
Ciao da Asolo, Italia!
I’m an American expat living and working way out here in Italy, and one of my favorite “reconnecting” activities is settling down with some good wine and your weekly podcast — it really makes me feel less distant. You guys gather some amazing and endlessly innovative artists, and I just have to tell you how much your podcast means to me — keep on doing what you do, you do an excellent job! The next time I travel to New York, I’m determined to come enjoy the music live — it’ll be a wonderful homecoming for me.
Grazie mille!

Hey guys.
In your March 12th podcast a guy called todd the guitar man played. I thought he was great and was wondering if he was on the internet or has any songs released.
thanks
Neil
Hey I have been listening to your podcast for some time now, and really enjoy it. Recently, I did some hiking in the Great Smoky Mountains, and the whole time I had Acoustic Long Island playing (quietly though, so I could till hear the water and the animals). I enjoy everything you guys put out. Recently, I have been playing the podcasts by Tom Chapin and Jesse Ruben repeatedly. In the winter, I am a teacher in Texas, so Tom’s song about testing really spoke true to my heart. In the summer, I run a program at a camp in Maine, so Jesse’s story about his friend Zak was very poignant to me as well. I hope to be able to make it to the mansion on June 11th, if all goes well. How do you get tickets? I also finally decided to make a small contribution to you guys, because I feel like every week I am bascially getting a fantastic cd for free. Keep up the good work. By the way, your sound guy is amazing. The quality of these podcasts blows everything else out of the water. Oh by the way do you know if all the Chapin sisters are married? I am not as musically talented as the rest of the family, but I make a make omelet. Throw in a good word with Tom for me, and see if we can’t make some magic happen. Im only kidding. That was one of the the first ALI podcasts that when I heard it, I had to invite my friends over to listen as well because it was truly amazing.
Hi!
I absolutely LOVE your podcast! It is the best. I’ve been happy to see some of my favorite artists perform, and have been able to find out about a ton of new amazing musicians.
Get the band Old Springs Pike to perform!!! They are amazing vocalists, great musicians, and have the best energy live on stage than any other band that I have ever seen. I would make the 5 hour drive to the mansion to see them! They are based in NYC and just amazing!!
(from a listener in Colorado)
Greetings from Colorado,
I have been listening to Acoustic Long Island for over a year now. However, I
have fallen really far behind. I am now interning at an organic farm in
Colorado, and I have decided to catch up on all of the ALI episodes. While
working in the orchards and vineyards, I have enjoyed listening to halloween
and christmas songs and have learned many new factoids about groundhogs day,
Utah and April fools day! In a week or two I should be all caught up and will
be able to hear new episodes and will be up to speed with the happenings at
ALI. Thank you so much for helping me keep my sanity this summer and
entertaining me while I toil in the soil.
